The Artist
In 2012, Montblanc invited four young stage directors from South Africa, Austria, France and South Korea to take part in the Young Directors Project. The jury consisted of Dr. Helga Rabl-Stadler (president of the Salzburg Festival) and Thaddaeus Ropac (Ropac Gallery) who have supported the project from the very beginning. They were joined by the actor August Diehl, the author Klaus Händl and the critic Peter Kümmel, who joined the jury for the first time.
The Young Directors Project, driven by Montblanc, is an exciting theater competition for young, upcoming international theater directors and their ensembles as part of the Salzburg Festival.
Each year, an expert jury honors the most outstanding performance with the Montblanc Young Directors Award: € 10,000 in prize money and the exclusive Montblanc Limited Edition "Hommage à Max Reinhardt" Fountain Pen, which is exclusively designed for the Young Directors Project every year.
