On 16 November 2011, Montblanc had the special honour of presenting the renowned conductor Valery Gergiev with the Russian Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award 2011 during a splendid Gala Dinner held in Moscow. Maestro Gergiev, an artist of highest acclaim worldwide, a leading conductor and a builder of bridges between cultures, has received this prize as a mark of respect for his great versatility, passion and untiring engagement in the world of classical music.

Valery Gergiev has established and directed such international festivals as the Gergiev Festival (the Netherlands), the Moscow Easter Festival and the Stars of the White Nights festival (St Petersburg). Moreover, he became the patron of the “Montblanc New Voices Award” which has honoured talented young classical singers since 2007.
