Jonas M. Marketing Trainee / GBU Western, Hemisphere Distribution

“Trainees are warmly welcomed at Montblanc. The personnel department supports and mentors them throughout their placement. During feedback sessions, the potential for improvement is discussed and tasks evaluated, and at regular informal discussions, we exchanged experiences or planned activities together.

The varied tasks I was given included preparing presentations, evaluating success and supporting marketing activities. I was never left alone, and there was always a ready ear to answer my questions.

Time was always taken to explain the overall context and to develop an awareness of the brand. I was invited to important meetings right from the beginning. One can learn a great deal as a trainee at Montblanc, as well as actively developing and evolving through challenging tasks.”

Julia S. Human Resources Trainee

“As a trainee in the Personnel Department, I assisted the personnel officers and administrators. I was involved in different projects from the outset, was given my own projects, for which I was responsible from the idea, through planning to execution, and I was involved in decision-making.

I was not surprised when our manager turned up at our trainees' regular informal lunch-time discussion, because colleagues and managers are equally interested in one another at all levels, and a trainee is taken seriously, just like a fully-fledged employee.

I can certainly develop my theoretical knowledge, complement my studies with practical experience and create a network of contacts. Many current staff members started their careers with a placement at Montblanc.”

Valérie F. Travel Retail Trainee

“At Montblanc, I gained a fascinating insight into how a global luxury brand operates. My expectations of an international environment and diverse business activities were fulfilled. From the very outset of my placement, I could use my language and foreign experience to carry out research of the Asian market. Other tasks followed, which I was allowed to carry out largely on my own, jobs for which I was responsible and in which I could use my own initiative.

In this way, I was able not only to successfully use knowledge gained during five years of study, but also acquire a comprehensive overview of the luxury goods sector. Variety marked my placement at Montblanc. I was able take a great deal away, on both a professional and human level, from working together with colleagues in my department.”
