- Which payment methods are available?
For online purchases we accept payment by credit card and Paypal. The credit cards that can be used are MasterCard and Visa. If you would like to use American Express please contact the Customer Service Centre on 08455 040111.
- What is a CVV?
The CVV or security code is an added security feature which is printed on the back of most MasterCard and Visa cards. This three-digit security code is an additional safeguard to ensure the user who has placed an order online is the actual card holder.
- Is my payment secure / Is it safe to use my credit card online?
To guarantee a safe and secure online shopping experience, Montblanc.com uses Secure Socket Layer technology (SSL).This technology encrypts and protects the information that you send us online. As soon as SSL is activated, a notification will appear at the top of your browser. Click on this notification for information on the SSL security certificate declaration.You will also notice that the website address in the URL field at the top of your browser always starts with "https:" instead of the usual" http:". This means you are in secure mode.
- Can I select the currency I pay in?
Payments can only be made in GB Pounds Sterling.
- Is it possible to charge a single order to multiple cards?
Unfortunately it is not possible to spread payments across different cards.
- Why was my credit card or other payment methods declined at checkout?
There may be various reasons why a payment has not been accepted. Please call Montblanc Customer Service on 03455 040111 and our team will be happy to answer your questions from Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm.
- When will I be charged for my order?
Your debit/ credit card or other payment method will not be charged until your order has been dispatched. However, your account may already show that the sum has been debited immediately after making the order. This is a payment pre-authorisation only.
- May I change the payment method after placing my order?
It is not possible to change the payment method after making an order.
- I’M VISITING FROM OUTSIDE THE EU. CAN I CLAIM BACK THE VAT?
Items that are bought in our online-shop or on the phone cannot be refunded for VAT. Please visit one of our Montblanc boutiques or an authorized retailer instead.

- Why has €1 been charged to my credit card?
This is only a pre-authorisation for a validity check and a fee of €1 is temporarily held for payment on your credit card. This sum will be cancelled automatically after a few days. The time it takes to cancel this fee will depend on the respective credit card institute.
- I received a transaction number from Paypal, although I was asked to choose a different payment method. Has my order been received?
An order is completed only after you have received an order number and Montblanc.com has sent a confirmation of receipt to your email address. In all other cases, this is only a pre-authorisation of the total for payment during the Paypal transaction. Payment will not be taken. The sum will only be debited from your account if the order has actually been processed by Montblanc.com.
