Prix Montblanc

Since 2006, Montblanc has been awarding the PRIX Montblanc to emerging talents. Every year, a jury of experts chooses an up-and-coming artist to receive the award, which is endowed with a €10,000 prize and the Montblanc Donation Pen – a remarkable fountain pen edition, which honours renowned personalities in the world of classical music, coevally serving to promote new cultural and artistic projects.

Philharmonia of the Nations

Philharmonia of the Nations

Montblanc has its roots in writing culture and is therefore dedicated to making cultural commitments. One of the diverse projects brought to life by Montblanc is the Philharmonia of the Nations. Taking its inspiration from an idea by Leonard Bernstein and Lord Yehudi Menuhin, it was established in 1995 under the motto "Let's make music as friends". This unconventional orchestra brings together particularly talented young musicians from over forty nations and five continents, and is directed by founder and conductor Prof Justus Frantz. In its pursuit of musical virtuosity and as a symbol of creative co-operation between nations and cultures, the orchestra conveys a message of peace and harmony, which can be understood all over the world.

John Lennon Tourbus

John Lennon Tourbus

Montblanc was proud to honour John Lennon’s life, his music and his dreams by contributing to selected cultural projects which supported music education. For one year, Montblanc collaborated with The John Lennon Education Tour Bus, a US non-profit mobile recording studio providing young people with the means to learn how to compose, play, perform, record and produce songs and music videos.

The programme co-operated with local partners to create free events for middle school, high school, and university students to tour the bus, and participate in the production of music, video and digital photography projects. The students had the chance to work with the highly trained crew in the professional recording studio and HD video production facility. It was, in the words of Yoko Ono Lennon, “precisely the kind of project John Lennon would have loved."

The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus was created by Executive Director Brian Rothschild and Music Manager David Sonenberg and was made possible by an agreement with Yoko Ono Lennon. Over the years, guests included artists such as Carlos Santana, will.i.am and The Black Eyed Peas, John Legend, Macy Gray, LeAnn Rimes, Mary J. Blige, NAS, Al Jarreau, Dave Koz, Bob Weir, Justin Timberlake, Vanessa Carlton, Sheila E, Lamont Dozier and Wyclef Jean, just to name a few.
