In 2008, the Young Directors Project once again gave upcoming artists the chance to present themselves for the first time to the international press in the German-speaking area. This year the jury of Dr. Helga Rabl-Stadler (president of the Salzburg Festival), Thaddaeus Ropac (Ropac Gallery), Peter Simonischek (actor), Wolfgang Kralicek (culture critic) and Sunnyi Melles (actress) had to choose between four wonderful plays.

Ingo Berk (Germany), Tore Vagn Lid and the Transiteatret (Norway) and Toshiki Okada and chelfitsch (Japan), as well as Kelly Copper, Pavol Liska and the Nature Theater of Oklahoma (USA), all took part in the supportive theater project. After an inspiring contest, the Young Directors Award 2008 went to Kelly Copper, Pavol Liska and the Nature Theater of Oklahoma.
