Goodbye 2017, hello 2018. Leaving a year behind and stepping into a new one, can bring out mixed sensations. One thing set in stone, is that the new year is upon us and it is for each of us to decide how to utilise this fresh start that we are all given. We have spoken to three creatives about their New Year’s resolutions and what they each anticipate being their main focus for 2018.

Focus on the positive things

Edoardo (@edoardochuck), French-Italian fashion and lifestyle influencer.

Taking the time to reflect over the past year can be rewarding in terms of adjusting our lives in the right direction. I use the new year as a milestone that motivates me to regenerate and focus on the positive things, as well as getting my priorities in order. Being more organized in order to achieve better work and a more peaceful life is my main goal for 2018. As I travel a lot, discovering new places is a part of my everyday life. My goal is not to take this for granted and instead try to discover every little thing these new locations have to offer.

Bring in a change in perspectives

Sebastian, Danish videographer and owner of a production company.

My routine has been simple and well balanced, making decisions based on pros and cons. In 2018, I want to apply a different way of seeing things, in order to spark new ideas. Changing my position, going somewhere unexpected and investigating things from different angles. This can all contribute to bringing greater detail to my work. A general shift in perspectives could be prioritising quality rather than quantity in both my personal and work life. By prioritising quality, my goal is to create greater value around the simple things in life.

Leave the roads and hit the trails

Morten, Freelance film director, based out of Copenhagen.

Being a freelance film director includes a lot of travel, meeting many new people and constantly change of environments. I have decided that the new year will be the time where I will leave the roads, fill my backpack and hit the trails. There are many great reasons to get outside more often. There are many great reasons to get outside more often: breathe in the fresh air, enjoy the silence and completely distress. This could be a way to create balance between city life and natural spaces, as well as a way to settle my mind at the same time.
