Montblanc Heritage Collection

TRADITION OUTLASTS TIME

Inspired by historical Minerva wristwatches from the 1940s and 1950s and timeless sartorial elegance, we are pleased to announce the expansion of our Heritage product line with seven new models.

HERITAGE WATCHES WITH VINTAGE FLAIR

Montblanc brings together the elegance of watchmaking’s past with today’s bold design codes in order to create timepieces that feature horological complications and vintage aesthetics, such as curved horns with facets and sapphire crystal glass boxes.

Special attention has been paid to the dials, which include technical finishes like two-tone decoration, a domed-shape, and lacquered finishes.

The timepieces feature distinctive vintage colours, including a silvery-white, a deep blue and burnt caramel. The dials fall in line with dot indexes, curved Dauphine hands and a rack minuterie, both with SuperLuminova®, and old-school international payphone indications.

History

Montblanc timepieces continue the legacy of

over 160 years of Minerva’s history in fine watchmaking exploration.

Designed for Sophisticated Elegance

The Montblanc Heritage models feature fully polished 39 mm to 42 mm cases, curved horns with facets, and are fitted with sapphire crystal glass boxes for an elegant vintage look. Special attention has been paid to the dials with distinctive colours, such as salmon, burnt caramel, British-racing-green.

They also include technical finishes such as two-tone decoration, a domed shape, and lacquer coatings that require dexterity and expertise to apply. Other details feature dots as indexes, curved Dauphine hands enhanced with SuperLuminova©, a rack minuterie with SuperLuminova© small dots every five minutes, and oldschool international payphone indications of 3, 6 and 9 minutes.

In line with the collection’s spirit, the timepieces are adorned with Sfumato alligator straps of various colours that complete the overall design.

Limited Editions

PYTHAGORE SMALL SECOND LIMITED EDITION 148

The Heritage Pythagore Small Second Limited Edition 148 pays tribute to the Minerva calibre No. 48, developed and produced in the manufacture in Villeret in 1948. In its day, the movement was the height of contemporary design, pushing the boundaries of watchmaking’s aesthetical rules with its straight lines and geometrical angles that followed the Pythagorean theorem and the golden ratio.

Taking inspiration from the original movement and meticulously following the golden ratio principle, Montblanc engineers have developed the Manufacture Calibre MB M14.08, with distinctive geometrical shapes and straight lines. They first defined the movement diameter of 31.6 mm in order to fit into a modern size case with enough room to apply the golden pentagon, in which a five-point branch star is obtained via the intersection of golden triangles.

MANUFACTURE PERPETUAL CALENDAR LIMITED EDITION 100

This limited edition, with its patented manufacture complication designed by Montblanc engineers in Villeret, is one of the most readable and easy-to-use perpetual calendars ever created.

The timepiece indicates the hours, minutes, day, date, month, moonphase, and leap year in a very legible way thanks to its large counters at 3, 6, and 9. But while it may be simple on the outside, there is incredible complexity beneath the surface. The perpetual calendar complication alone required three years to develop and makes up 259 of the 378 parts of the calibre MB 29.22. Unlike most perpetual calendars, which make use of levers, the MB 29.22 is composed solely of multiple wheels and cams. The date can be adjusted easily, via the crown in both directions, and the highly precise astronomical moonphase complication only needs to be adjusted by one day every 122 years.

AUTOMATIC CHRONOGRAPH

Two new small complications join the Montblanc Heritage core collection this year. The Montblanc Heritage Automatic Date includes a silvery-white dial and stainless steel case, and the Montblanc Heritage Automatic Chronograph features bi-pushers and a new case size of 41 mm.

The Montblanc Heritage Automatic is now also available with the new burnt caramel dial. Built around the MB 25.13 movement, it features a chronograph with central second-hand, along with 30-minute and 12-hour counters. The updated dial is surrounded by a 41 mm polished stainless steel case, and the strap is brown Sfumato alligator.
