Inspiration. It can arise from personal experience, observation, politics, or art. Inspiration is the fuel of good writing. And sometimes, writing itself is an inspiration. Just like the artworks in this exhibition – they have all been inspired by writing. Some have been created with the use of writing instruments. Others interpret writing and language in an unseen way, proving that our often deep, emotional connection to words can go way beyond reading. All the artists are connected through “salondergegenwart,” a nonprofit initiative that supports newcomers to the German art world by presenting them side by side with well-established international artists. Their group exhibitions: a yearly review of what is “state of the art.”
