Montblanc 1858 Manual Small Second
Montblanc 1858 Collection
Montblanc 1858 Chronograph Tachymeter Blue Limited Edition 100
Paying homage to the roots of its Manufacture in Villeret, Montblanc presents a timepiece inspired by Villeret’s legendary Minerva chronographs.
In an elegant tribute to its historic predecessors from the 1930s, the Montblanc 1858 Chronograph Tachymeter Blue stands out with a blue dial. The historical shape of the hands is also inspired by the original timepiece, as are the small seconds at 9 o’clock and the chronograph counter at 3 o’clock. The historic Montblanc emblem at 12 o’clock and the notched crown underline the vintage appearance of the timepiece. The dial’s tachymeter scale eases the computing of a speed based on travel time along the delicate “chemin de fer” minuterie. Coated with Super-LumiNova®*, the luminescent hands and numerals are perfectly readable in the dark.
Developed and handcrafted in-house, the Montblanc Calibre MB M16.29 features a monopusher chronograph with column wheel and horizontal disc clutch. While composed of the same structure and components as the historical Minerva Calibre 17.29, the movement outshines its precursor with hand-crafted finishings, like “Côtes de Genève” patterning and sublime bevelling. In a 44 mm case made of stainless steel with thin, slightly curved horns, the Montblanc 1858 Chronograph Tachymeter Blue is strictly limited to 100 pieces. Likewise inspired by Minerva’s iconic wristwatches are the Manual Small Second timepieces of the Montblanc 1858 collection.
