Model chef Isaac Carew’s five smart travel tips
Summit 2 Luxury Smartwatch - How to Stay Ahead | Montblanc UK
Being constantly on the move is his standard. A travel blogger, chef, model, and fitness enthusiast, the Englishman Isaac Carew explores and experiences all the world’s facets on his many trips. The secret ingredient in the recipe for this 32-year-old all-rounder’s success is staying one step ahead of the daily challenges. Especially when it comes to jumping between different time zones. Find out how Isaac Carew prepares for his travels and which one of his favourite dishes help him fight jet lag.
Always on the go: Isaac Carew is getting ready to explore the urban markets.
“I choose my holiday destination based on a couple of things, for example, weather (laughs). While I enjoyed skiing and hiking in rural England, I love hot weather, providing it’s not too humid. The other important factor is the culture, which obviously includes food, as well as religion and architecture.”
“Podcasts are super handy in preparation for the upcoming trip. I find that they have a very special approach to travel and feature hidden gems that you wouldn’t find in traditional guidebooks. Then, I cross-reference this with any advice I get from my friends. This creates the framework of any trip for me. I also always like the plan to be relatively loose as the best adventures tend to happen quite organically.”
Know exactly where to go: The Summit 2 is giving directions thanks to GPS.
Stay ahead of jet lag
“I think it’s important to wear yourself out. This helps to get back into your natural rhythm. I do that by working out and eating something light but filling – like my recipe for Harissa baked eggs. Served with toasted sourdough bread and garnished with coriander, a spoonful of Greek yogurt and a drizzle of chili oil, it makes a great ‘eat-your-jet-lag-away’ dish.”
“As a chef, when I travel I tend to plan everything around restaurants or food markets. There is so much vibrancy around food markets all over the world - it is a huge privilege to be able to explore these places. In this case, the travel features in my Summit 2 make it my universal travel companion. I would be lost without it and my phone. I find inspiration for new dishes everywhere, so I take a lot of photos and videos, which I then draw on for inspiration.”
Prepared for dinner with friends: on the way back from the market, Isaac checks his notifications.
Most important ingredient for a dinner: the right timing.

Stay in shape
“I don’t lock myself in the gym. Instead, I may hike. I’m also an avid cyclist and love to swim, which is a great all-body workout. Together with the Running Coach app on the Summit 2 I’m able to bring my fitness to the next level. I try to stay active whenever and wherever I can.”
