Yoko Ono

The "Dream Power" project

Yoko Ono, widow of the legendary musician and peace-maker John Lennon, was honoured with the Japanese Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award in Tokyo on 22 July 2011.
Known for her generous support of the arts, and specially music, Yoko Ono has contributed to a significant number of music education programmes worldwide. In 2001, Yoko Ono established the Dream Power concerts in Japan as a benefit initiative for deprived children. It is thanks to this commitment that 107 schools in 28 countries across Asia and Africa have been built.
