Care & Use
Leather is a natural material that is sensitive to the effects of light, humidity and water. To keep your Montblanc leather product in perfect condition and prevent the colour from fading, Montblanc recommends protecting it from prolonged exposure to high temperatures and direct sunlight. In the event of contact with water, it should be dried promptly with a soft, smooth cloth. To maintain its natural softness, Montblanc recommends treating your leather product with a neutral leather care product.
Meisterstück Selection
Meisterstück Selection – a modern and classic collection incorporating the sleek design elements of the Meisterstück line with rich natural colours and precious hides. The inside of the product is lined with smooth soft leather. Due to its delicate nature and handcrafted structure, Exotic Skin Printed Leather must be handled with care. The alligator-printed calfskin is coloured by hand to enhance the three dimensional effect and the transparency of the colour. Possible colour fluctuation and colour fading over time confirm the use of manual processes and the selection of natural materials. To minimise colour fading, please avoid prolonged exposure to light.
Montblanc Extreme
The Montblanc Extreme collection combines a centuries-old tradition of fine craftsmanship with a constant quest for innovation.Due to its embossed structure, Montblanc Extreme tends to be more sensitive to dust. Montblanc Extreme can be cleaned with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. If more thorough cleaning is required, moisten the cloth with clean water. Please avoid using standard cleaning agents, as this may cause halos and undesired changes in the touch and feel of the surface.
Polycarbonate trolley
The external polycarbonate shell of your Montblanc trolley shall be cleaned with a damp, non-abrasive cloth only. A neutral non-abrasive solvent-free detergent can be used for more resistant stains or labels residuals.

When your Montblanc leather product is not in use, Montblanc recommends keeping it in its dust bag, if available, stored in a dry and dark space. Please note that adverse storage conditions, such as high temperatures, strong light or high humidity, may cause undesired changes in the material.

To bestow your Montblanc leather product with a very special and personal note, Montblanc offers embossing of initials with three different font styles to chose from.
We offer embossing for most small leather goods with initials and full stops with up to 3 characters. For hand bags, business and travel bags and trolleys that come with a leather tag, we offer embossing of leather tag. The embossing will normally be infilled in the foil color that matches the fittings of the leather product (gold, silver) or blind (without color).
Embossing can be performed at some of our boutiques and at our leather competence center.

If you wish to evaluate your creation of originality, bring it to one of our boutiques or authorized retailers to have it sent to Montblanc Headquarters.
Your piece will be carefully inspected by our specialists. In case your product is a genuine Montblanc product, we will issue the ” Certificate of Authenticity” as proof of authenticity. The Authenticity evaluation is a chargeable service. The dealer or Boutique will be able to inform you about the cost of the authentication service and the further process.

For reasons of sustainability, we have decided to no longer offer the dated calendar inserts.
You therefore have two options: You can obtain undated universal inserts for most products in Montblanc Boutiques and from our authorised retailers. Or you can purchase dated inserts from another manufacturer. The rings of our calendars have standard spacings, which are also offered by other manufacturers.

Repair & Warranty
We are pleased to assist you in case your leather piece got damaged and is in need of a repair service.
In order to hand in your leather creation for service, please bring take it to a Montblanc boutique or authorized retailer of your choice. If repair service is feasible it will then be sent to our service center for a repair and service.
Please kindly note that small leather goods can - with a few exceptions such as emblem replacement - not be repaired. In case of a defect covered by warranty, small leather goods are replaced.
In order to hand in your leather creation for service, please bring take it to a Montblanc boutique or authorized retailer of your choice. If repair service is feasible it will then be sent to our service center for a repair and service.
Please kindly note that small leather goods can - with a few exceptions such as emblem replacement - not be repaired. In case of a defect covered by warranty, small leather goods are replaced.
The Boutique or authorised dealer may provide an approximate price indication for the service/repair of your piece. A definite cost estimate can only be established after careful examination by our master craftsmen.
To learn about the status of your repair, contact the boutique or authorized retailer where you handed in your leather creation for service/repair. If you sent your leaether piece directly or with the service kit, please contact Customer Service team for status updates. Please make sure to mention the service number you received when you handed in at the point of sale.
Montblanc offers an international guarantee for a period of two years from the date of purchase which covers defects in manufacturing and materials. If the product is returned during the Guarantee period, Montblanc will repair or replace any defective Montblanc Product or part free of charge within a reasonable time after the product is returned, subject to the right to charge for shipping. Upon expiration of the Guarantee period, any repairs will be subject to a service charge.
You may obtain service by bringing or sending the Montblanc Product to your authorised Montblanc boutique, Montblanc dealer or to any Montblanc service centre as further indicated in this service guide. You are responsible for transportation costs, including but not limited to postage, insurance and packing materials. We recommend that any shipments to us include certified delivery and insurance. In order to obtain service through this Montblanc International Guarantee, the returned Montblanc Product must be accompanied by the original Guarantee Certificate that was included with the Montblanc Product at the time of purchase, duly completed, dated, stamped and signed by an authorised Montblanc boutique or Montblanc dealer.
The Montblanc International Guarantee does not cover:
(a) defects and damages due to loss, theft, fire or other causes beyond our control.
(b) defects and damages resulting from misuse, negligence or accident.
(c) defects and damages caused by improper use (knocks, dents, crushing, etc.), alterations, tampering, dismantling or services and repairs completed by anyone other than an authorised Montblanc boutique, Montblanc dealer or Montblanc service centre, or by the use of components or accessories other than those produced or recommended by Montblanc.
(d) defects and damages due to normal wear and tear.
(e) Montblanc Products where the serial number has been removed or is not clearly legible, or where any part of the original Montblanc Product has been removed, changed, altered, replaced, erased or defaced.
(f) routine maintenance and cleaning.
(g) battery cells, leather straps, rubber and metal bracelets.
The Montblanc International guarantee also excludes writing instruments from which the Limited Edition number has been removed.

Our service warranty is valid for one year from the date the service was completed. This service is a warranty only on the replaced parts and/or service carried out. It does not include malfunction due to improper use or any new damages which may occur in the future.
