Watches & Wonders
Each year Montblanc's presence at Watches and Wonders in Geneva celebrates our 165 years of watch making heritage. Our innovative spirit started with the classic Minerva pocket watches in 1858, a design that continues to inspire our approach to contemporary watchmaking.
Novelties in our 1858 and Star Legacy collections, including several limited editions, are on show at Watches and Wonders in an eye-catching booth inspired by the great glaciers of Swiss Alps. Featuring a swinging pendulum weighted by an oversized version of our classic fountain pen nib, the booth brings together the rich expertise of Montblanc complemented by artworks from Marie De La Ville Baugé.
1858 ICED SEA AUTOMATIC DATE
Alluding to the depths of a glacier with all its
minerals captured in time for millennia, the new 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date
comes with a grey glacier pattern dial inspired by the Mer de Glace. The
glacial texture was achieved using an almost-forgotten ancestral technique
called gratté-boisé. The 41mm timepiece comes with a stainless-steel
interchangeable bracelet which can be quickly and easily switched for a black
rubber strap with grey edging. It features a water resistance of 300m,
Super-LumiNova® markings, and is adjustable on the wrist when wearing the watch
for diving.

STAR LEGACY MOONPHASE 42mm – LE 1786
The 42mm stainless steel case of this timepiece highlights a new facet of the Mont Blanc – its south-facing rocky side where the snow has difficulty to settle on its vertical face. The highly appreciated moon phase complication displays the phases of the moon at six o’clock and overlaps the grey glacier pattern in the background. The model comes with an elegant rose-gold-coated moon and stars on a blue background that are surrounded by a round date indicator. The timepiece comes on an interchangeable grey calfskin strap with an alligator print.
STAR LEGACY CHRONOGRAPH 42mm – LE 1786

This timepiece comes with two chronograph counters at three and nine o’clock for an elegant look and important legibility. The grey glacier pattern can be perceived in the background, while the filet sauté has been replaced with an inner flange to bring volume to the dial. The time functions are displayed with rose-gold coated, leaf-shaped hands, while the chronograph indications use rhodium-coated “baton” hands. The timepiece comes on an interchangeable grey calfskin strap with an alligator print.
