Product description: Montblanc 1858 Automatic 24H

The Montblanc 1858 product line is inspired by the legendary professional Minerva watches from the 1920s and 1930s which were conceived for military use and exploration. Reinterpreting these historical timepieces, the Montblanc 1858 product line expresses the spirit of mountain exploration, embodying the modern trend of returning to nature. The Montblanc 1858 Automatic 24H is highly-functional and dedicated to the modern-day explorer. It indicates the time on a 24-hour scale using a single luminescent red-coloured hand which not only indicates the time, but also acts as a compass. The timepiece comes in a 42 mm stainless steel case with a bronze bezel and a black dial with beige luminescent numerals and indexes. As a secret detail, the dial features a hidden luminescent map of the Northern Hemisphere that is only revealed at night. The Montblanc 1858 Automatic 24H is completed with a refined black textile strap that is made in a traditional 150-year-old strap manufacture in France.

History

The following module is a scrolling parallax. Titles, texts, images and videos will be highlighted in the parallax when you scroll through the page.
  • Montblanc watchmaking is built on a unique set-up that brings two manufactures together, based in Le Locle and in Villeret, in the Swiss Jura mountains.
  • The Montblanc watchmaking story began in 1858 when Mr. Charles-Ivan Robert founded a watch workshop in Villeret. This marked the beginning of the historic Minerva era.
  • Today, Montblanc timepieces continue the journey of over 160 years of Minerva history through four fine watchmaking product lines: Star Legacy, Bohème, 1858 and Heritage, all linking the past and the present through design, style, and technical innovation.
