On 24 September 2009 in Mexico City, the International Award Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage award was delivered in Mexico for the second year in a row.
In 2009, Enrique Norten, a reknowned architect, and Jose León Cerrillo, a young artist, were part of that jury, consisting of 24 people from Mexico, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Korea, Spain, the UK and the USA.
The venue was the Centro Cultural Universitario Tlatelolco (a cultural centre and museum), so guests had the opportunity of visiting part of Mr Blaisten’s exhibited collection, the most complete modern Mexican art collection in existence.
The award ceremony was hosted by Marcela Cuevas, and Chairman of the Montblanc Cultural Foundation, Lang Lang, sent a video message announcing the winner of the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award 2009 for Mexico – Andres Blaisten – who received two cheques, both destined to the Fond Díaz de León and the MdlC. He also received a Montblanc Patron of Arts Limited Edition fountain pen, specially designed for the winner.
Among the special guests were art collectors, VIP clients, socialites and journalists.
