MONTBLANC MARIA CALLAS

MARIA CALLAS RUBY-COLOURED

The second chapter of this collection celebrates Maria Callas’s sparkling life in the spotlight. As one of the most renowned opera singers of the 20th century, this special edition honours her life beyond performance, drawing on her iconic sense of style defined by elegance, splendour, and a touch of drama.

RUBY-COLOURED

To commemorate Maria Callas’s dazzling life as an operatic diva, the design of this edition draws on the sparkling tones of her signature ruby and diamond jewellery. A rich red-coloured precious resin coats the cap and barrel, and is offset by elegant platinum-coated fittings that recall one of her most recognisable jewellery ensembles worn throughout the 1950s and 60s: a brilliant ruby and diamond necklace with a matching bracelet and earrings.

CELEBRATING CALLAS AS AN OPERATIC ICON

Over the course of her career, Greek-American soprano Maria Callas appeared at some of the world’s most prestigious opera houses, performing defining roles in works such as Bellini’s Norma and Verdi’s La Traviata.

As her artistry evolved, Callas became known as “La Divina” – the Divine One – a title that reflected her commanding stage presence. Her sophisticated aesthetic and discerning eye for jewellery helped shape her icon status, and she was often seen wearing her signature ruby and diamond pieces during her performances.

Today, her legacy lives on through her recordings, her cultural influence, and her unrivalled emotional intensity, which continues to inspire opera singers around the world.
