The edition celebrates her sparkling life in the spotlight as an operatic diva, with the precious resin of the cap and barrel rendered in a rich ruby hue, while reflecting Maria Callas’s graceful beauty in its slender, elegant silhouette. The platinum-coated clip is decorated with a synthetic stone, whose vibrant ruby colour is inspired by her profound love for opulent ruby jewellery. Its delicate petal shape pays homage to a new rose named after Maria Callas in 1965, honouring her deep affection for these flowers. A costume detail from one of her recognisable bel canto roles, Bellini’s “Norma”, is reflected in a pattern of laurel leaves surrounding the platinum-coated cone of the edition, along with the embossed signature of the celebrated soprano. The handcrafted Au 585 solid gold, rhodium-coated nib is embossed with the kohl outlined cat eyes so typical of her image, as well as the name that is inseparable from Maria Callas: “La Divina”.
