Cap and barrel feature a dazzling representation of the Golden Pavilion against its backdrop of natural scenery, meticulously crafted using the traditional maki-e technique. This 'art of the golden brush stroke' involves the application of many alternating layers of semi-transparent urushi lacquer and powdered gold, sprinkled with pinpoint precision, then smoothed, sanded, and polished multiple times by a maki-e master. The solid Au 750 gold cap ring, against a backdrop of black PVD coating, showcases a delicate, hand-engraved 3D dragonfly, a totemic creature symbolizing good fortune, strength, courage, and unwavering resolve.
