Font

Embossing comes mostly in two fonts. For an elegant hand-written effect, opt for the italicised ‘Rounded’ font. Alternatively, for a more minimal, sans serif aesthetic, choose the ‘Grotesque’ font. If you have a trolley with a tag on it then you can use our 'Goudy' font. Depending on the model, up to three or four letters can be embossed, making personalisation well suited for adding the owner’s initials. There is also the option to add full stops between letters. Please note that font options may vary depending on the product selected.

Text Colour

Embossed text can be applied in silver or gold foil, both of which add a luxurious metallic detail. For a more understated effect, choose the no-fill ‘blind’ option, which matches the colour of the leather product. Please note that colour options may vary depending on the product selected.

Placement

On products such as wallets and card holders, initials are embossed on the bottom-right corner. Pen pouches will typically feature initials on the outside of the flap, below the loop. Belt embossing is also applied to the reverse side. Trolleys are embossed on the luggage tag, located on the side of the product.

Leather goods purchased on montblanc.com can be personalised on their respective product page. When viewing the item, you will see the ‘personalise’ option on the right of the product picture. Simply click the button and start customising. Helpful image simulations will show what the finished design will look like.

When purchasing a product in-store, speak to one of our Montblanc representatives about the personalisation options that you’d like to apply. They will explain all the options available for your leather good in detail. The time it takes to complete your finished product is dependent on the boutique, ranging from a few days to a few weeks.

To customise a Montblanc leather product that you already own, simply take it into one of our boutiques for our representatives to advise on personalisation. Please note that not all pre-existing purchases can be personalised, and we recommend that products are in good condition. If your leather good can be personised, it will be ready to pick up between 1 and 2 days later.
