1858 GEOSPHERE O OXYGEN CARBO₂ - LE 1969

A horologic achievement, this limited edition timepiece introduces a brand-new middle case material — the CARBO₂ — that captures CO₂ inside. The case features a luminous blue outline engraving of Mont Blanc on the side and an engraving. The highly engineered timepiece also features a glacier pattern dial, Worldtime display, and an interchangeable and adjustable rubber strap with a smooth V-shape design inspired by alpinists ropes.
The following module is a scrolling parallax. Titles, texts, images and videos will be highlighted in the parallax when you scroll through the page.
  • Capturing CO₂ inside the case — this breakthrough case material is created using an innovative technological process unique to the Maison.
  • The titanium case back features an eye-catching engraving of “Les Droites,” the north face of Mont Blanc, first ascended by Reinhold Messner in 1969. The 3D laser-generated oxidization creates the colour, and the matte and shiny finish delivers contrast.
  • Built for peak performance in harsh environments — our powerful Zero Oxygen technology eliminates fogging caused by temperature changes and prevents component oxidation.
  • The two turning 3D Northern and Southern Hemisphere Globes are our signature way of displaying Worldtime. It includes a blue Greenwich meridian lines and 14 dots for each of the 8000m highest peaks in the world.
  • Featured only where the wearer can see it — the left side of the 43.5 mm case features a luminous blue glacier outline of the Mont Blanc mountain, inspiring personal adventure and exploration.

MAKING HIS MARK AT GREAT HEIGHTS

This collection honours the bold journeys and great heights that mountaineer Reinhold Messner achieved throughout his life. Messner was the first to solo-climb Mount Everest without supplemental oxygen — a feat that influenced our Zero Oxygen technology — and all 14 of the world’s 8,000-metre peaks. His solo adventures also included traversing all of Antarctica on skis and the entirety of the Gobi Desert and Greenland on foot.

The Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen CARBO2 is limited to 1969 pieces as a nod to the year Reinhold Messner made the first solo ascent of Les Droites, the north face on the Mont-Blanc massif.
